A passport that is valid for a minimum three months beyond your stay will be required. Visas are the responsibility of the individual traveler, however approximately 70 countries are visa-free for travelling to Morocco for duration of up to 90 days. You will find that the weather in Morocco is pleasant year-round. During the early winter and spring months of January-April, days are typically sunny and quite warm and cooler in the evenings. Summers are hot and dry with temperatures picking up in May, with the hottest in July and August, before cooling off again until the end of September. You will enjoy cooler temperatures during October and November. There is very little rainfall throughout the year in Morocco.
The weather in Morocco varies from one place to another. However, it is recommended to visit Morocco in these months of (October/ November/ December/ January/ February/ March/ April) when the weather is pleasantly cool, sunny and warm which leads to some stunning photos. During midsummer, it is very hot in the south, though Sahara desert would be wonderful destination for some people to enjoy the hot sun.
We are frequently asked if it is safe to travel to Sahara desert, the answer is YES! The desert is a recommended destination for everyone traveling to Morocco. For some visitors the Sahara desert is the absolute highlight of their trip to Morocco.
There are no strict rules with dressing. Morocco is deemed an open and liberal country, due to its proximity with Europe. Therefore, dressing for foreigners has not to be a big issue. However, it is important to note that the majority of Moroccan people are conservative, and do not approve seeing foreign guests wearing inappropriate clothes which may break the public norms. It doesn’t mean you should wear as the locals, but particularly, women have to respect the general clothing norms, which is covering the knees and breast and avoiding tight or transparent outfits.
Travel agents are legally required to provide basic travel insurance within your travel package we certainly ensure this in our packages. However we still strongly advise you to purchase a full travel insurance package from your home country that suits the type of activities you are anticipating doing as well as covering medical and repatriation expenses.
Credit cards are accepted in large stores, hotels, and restaurants, whereas cash is required in small shops and Souks.
Exchange currency when you arrive at the airport or use local banks and ATM machines. Be prepared to have enough cash when traveling outside cities, as the ATM machines are rare in rural areas.
No. you can wear whatever makes you comfortable. Morocco is very tolerant and you are not expected to act or look like a Moroccan. However, in rural areas we recommend dressing conservatively to avoid unwanted attention.
In terms of payment, we do require a deposit in advance which could be achieved either by Bank transfer or by credit card and the rest of the payment should be paid either cash or by credit card on the meeting. Preferably, ask the local people before taking their photos. Some people do not like to be photographed. Yet, some others may ask for a fee before taking the photos (ex; snake charmers and single artistic performers in Marrakech and Fes). We understand how it is splendid some photos would be about people, especially with typical Moroccan clothing or style, but we recommend asking permission before making a photo.
